This past weekend the top amateur snowboarders from across the United States and Canada battled it out at Bear Mountain, CA for their chance to be crowned the 2014 TransWorld SNOWboarding TransAM Champion!

Zumiez flew out the first place guy and gal winners from stops 1-9 so you knew some heavy riding was going to go down. Upon arrival they were picked up from Ontario Airport in a magic party bus complete with Big Bear snowboard legend (and SoCal tour guide) Lucas Magoon. First stop, an epic feed at Day-Day & Dukes Waffle House followed by a stop at Ontario Mills Mall for a classic Zumiez shopping spree. From there it was back on the magic bus for a memorable journey to Big Bear to kick off the incredible TransAM Finals weekend.

Conditions could not have been any more pristine for the TransAM Finals. To set the stage we had DJ Slipmatt churning out the tunes, an amped crowd on the famed Bear beach deck, not a lick of wind, the bright Californian sun, and a masterpiece of a park created by Clayton Shoemaker and the Bear Mountain park crew.

Congratulations to Jeff Hopkins and Orla Doolin who were crowned as the 2014 Transworld SNOWboarding TransAM Champions. Both Jeff and Orla walked away with truckloads of grand prizes from all the TransAM sponsors. Jeff will be setting his sights even higher by securing a trip and an automatic spot for the amateur qualification in the Ride Shakedown April 4/5 in Saint-Sauveur, Quebec, Canada.

All winners also received tons of awesome product including High Cascade backpacks, Anon goggles, Analog outerwear, Giro Helmets, Zumiez gift cards, Muscle Milk product and gear from Ride Snowboards. There were raffle prizes galore and competitors were treated to a Bear Mountain Hot Dawg party on the warm and sunny Bear Mountain sun deck following the awards ceremony.

The prestigious Muscle Milk Best Line Award, went to Chris Reitsma, who took home a $250 American Express gift card, a custom Muscle Milk backpack, and a case of Muscle Milk for his efforts.
