I have given many snowboarding lessons over the years and some of my students don’t know how to wax their boards.
Or even if they do know how to wax, they say it is a hassle. It is super easy!

So I’m going to explain a very simple way.

Basically, there are only three steps.

  1. Clean the base of the snowboard
  2. Wax
  3. Remove the wax

That’s all.

First, how to clean the base. Especially in spring, snowboards get dirty.
There are several ways. If there is too much dirt, paper towels like this one may work.
However, I recommend using a scraper.

Using a scraper like this one can easily remove the stains and dirt.
It is easy.
It probably takes about 2 minutes so far.

The next step is to wax.

Heat up the iron and drip wax onto the base like this.
Especially near the side edges of the board, where your board is in contact with the snow the most. Try to use more wax in that area.

The middle can be done properly like this.

Now, use the iron to spread out the wax.

Caution!
Do not leave the iron in one spot for too long, it will burn the base. Always keep the iron moving.
Move the iron smoothly and slowly. If you move the iron too quickly, however, the wax will not get into the base. So, use a slow and smooth motion to spread the wax.

It is easy to do.
Once you get used to it, it takes about 3 minutes.

The last step is to remove the wax.

In fact, if you leave the board overnight, the wax will penetrate deeper into the base.
But we are not going to the Olympics, so there is no need to wait for the board to cool for this video. Remove it while the base is warm and easy to remove.

This process is a bit hard.
Peel off the wax with a scraper like this.
Especially in the middle of the board, be sure to scrape it off well. This is because this is an area that is not used very often, and dirt will adhere if left behind.

The trick with this scraper is not to aim for perfection.
Trying to do it perfectly is exhausting.
If you get close to 90% of the wax off, you should be OK.

The important thing is to wax your snowboard every 5-7 days of riding.

So, here we go, OK!
It’s easy.
Please give it a try.
