Signal Snowboardsが贈るEvery Third ThursdayからSpeed Stick – Heated Snowboard編がアップ！
今回も前代未聞です。
ソールに熱を持たせ春雪でもスピードアップを可能にしたSPEED STICK HEATED SNOWBOARDです！
スノーボードにとってソールがスピードに乗るかは大事なところですが、Dave Leeは、ソールに熱を持たせて雪を溶かしながら滑れば、早いのではないか？！と考えました。
ですが実はこの企画、以前に一度製作し見事に失敗しボツになったアイディアでした！今回、素材を見直し新たな電熱用シートを入手し、Dave Leeもリベンジとばかりに気合をいれて製作しました。いまやお得意になったボードに機器を埋め込むノウハウを駆使し、現場での幾つかの工夫を盛り込み、遂にソール面を見事に最大128度まで熱を上げることに成功しました！
そしていざ、テストライディング！完成した板は実際に雪上ではスピードアップしたのでしょうか？？

Get ready for some HOT snowboard action in this month’s Every Third Thursday! Dave Lee and the Signal Snowboards crew get back to the base-ics, experimenting with new technology to actually heat up the base of a snowboard and test out their theory that a hot base will go faster. Dave explains that the snow sliding action actually works from friction heating up the snow and forming a thin layer of water that the board slides on, but what if we speed up that process by incorporating a heat film into the base? Watch as Dave dials the base all the way up to 128-degrees and snowboarder Alex Cato heats up the slopes of Park City Resort.
