先日、デンバーで開催された世界最高峰のスノーボード賞、Riders’ Poll 17。
その中でも注目の賞と言える男女のビデオパート賞、Video Part Of The Yearの受賞シーンとその受賞された映像がアップされているので、ご紹介しよう。
Over seven minutes long, Louif’s Encore part features one of the most technically precise and creative displays of urban snowboarding yet witnessed. Back in 2008, Louif’s breakout ender in TransWorld SNOWboarding’s first feature film, These Days, put him on the map as one of the most progressive urban riders in the world with tricks like the first backside 270 to fakie on a street downrail (a.k.a the backside 270 Louif). Season after season, part after part, he’s proven that he deserves that title, but with his Encore part he also displays his growing comfort and skill in the backcountry.
Desiree Melancon has a reputation for legendary Riders’ Poll award speeches after her theatrics while accepting the 2014 Women’s Video Part Of The Year, 2014 Women’s Rider Of The Year, and 2013 Women’s Video Part Of The Year awards.
This year, Desiree did not disappoint. Although she picked up the Women’s Rider Of The year award for a second time, she granted the award to Jess Kimura who was not only recovering from an injury while filming part for Snowboarder’s SFD, but still processing the loss of her boyfriend Mark Dickson, who passed away in 2014 after a head-on collision while riding his motor bike.
